“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

Born in San Diego, California, and raised by two entrepreneurs, I was quick to fall in love with reading and school. My grandparents were both educators, and summers were spent at museums and learning new things. Becoming a teacher in some form was my goal from early on.

However, despite my passion for knowledge I still found myself struggling in school.

It was early on that I realized every person has an individual learning style and I have been dedicated to catering to that ever since.

My deep interest in learning styles led me to begin working on a degree in Child Development, where I established a foundational knowledge of what it takes to engage every mind and discovered the approach I like to take in teaching.

With a Twist

My education path took a turn and I found myself working in the Food & Beverage industry at a very young age. I took this opportunity to learn as much as I could about operations, communication, logistics, and management.

I started my first company at 24, and we sold our ginger beer to festivals all over the country. It was my responsibility to train all bartenders on how to teach customers about the product, and I created training material that over 800 bartenders still use to this day.

Unsure about returning to school, I made the decision to keep learning through hands-on experience and use the things I learned to continue my journey towards a sustainable career in training.

Transitioning To Tech

I started my tech career at GoFundMe, an incredible place to learn about resilience, patience, and the importance of a rigorous onboarding experience. It was here that I discovered that all of my past experiences had been preparing me to have a wheelhouse of skills I could leverage as a corporate trainer.

When It Clicks

Moving to ClickUp was a pivotal step in my training journey. I and a team of two others built our Support Training department from the ground up, and it was a major success. It was on that team that I stepped into developing curriculum, hosting live training sessions, and evaluating training effectiveness. I was able to onboard over 200 incredible employees, using content I had created, ensuring that their product knowledge matched their amazing personalities.

My Best Work Yet

Outside of work, you can find me cooking with my family or working in our garden. My husband and I have an enormous cookbook collection and love to invite friends and family over to enjoy with us.

Our son is 4 years old and has the vocabulary of a teenager - which is both hilarious and humiliating. He is an absolute joy, and an inspiration for me each day.

Becoming a mother has increased my motivation to make sure each learning style is addressed and acknowledged.
